Dutch Boy Poly started in a small farm shop in northeast Missouri. We were especially drawn to Poly Furniture because of the durability of the material and vibrant colors that didn’t fade. In 2018 we built our first piece. A 6ft picnic table is what got us started and at that time it was just a hobby project. Later that year we were hard up to build a chair but we didn’t start with anything real simple. Digging right in with the help of a friend’s pattern from some wooden chairs they had built, we produced our first swivel glider! When a local grocery store heard about what we were doing they started displaying some of our first pieces and selling some even though they looked very crude at that time. That pattern is now not at all the same anymore as we changed and tweaked things till we had it like we wanted it! Later in 2019, we added benches, tables, and chair sets and till 2020 we had a fairly decent lineup.
When Covid pandemic hit the world, sales boomed as people were staying home a lot more and focusing on their homes and families more. During that time we set up our more dealers, hired the first employee, and kept pushing out more products and new designs. 2021 came with a wild scramble to keep after orders and not much happened for anything new as sales were strong and a labor shortage kept the reins on things. 2022 things slowed a bit and we once again worked at changing patterns and getting the different designs to our satisfaction based on what we heard from our customers. Late in the year, we purchased a CNC router which we got up and running winter 2022-2023. We use the CNC router to cut most of our parts and we like what it is doing for us so far!
That put us where we are today. Putting efforts into continually improving our products while supplying the Midwest with the best in Outdoor Poly Lawn Furniture! We thank God for blessing our work over the past years.
